A flood watch is in effect in York County beginning at noon Wednesday and continuing until 5 p.m. Thursday, according to the National Weather Service.

Rainfall and snow melt poses an increased risk of flooding throughout the area, and flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas is likely beginning Wednesday afternoon.

Minor flooding is possible on small streams and creeks in the Juniata Basin and Lower Main Stem Susquehanna tributaries, according to the NWS.

There is a possibility of a thunderstorm between 1 p.m. and 4 p.m. Wednesday with a high near 54 and low around 39.

Thursday will be mostly sunny with a high near 44 and low around 27, and Friday will be sunny with a high near 41 and low around 28.
