One person badly hurt in Route 30 crossover crash

One man was seriously injured Friday morning when his car crossed into the opposing lanes of Route 30 in Springettsbury Township and crashed into an oncoming vehicle, police said.

The man, whose name hasn't been released, was taken to York Hospital, according to Springettsbury Township Police.

Police said the man was driving a Nissan Sentra west on Route 30, just east of the Mount Zion Road entrance ramp, at 7:37 a.m. when the Sentra crossed over the median and crashed into an eastbound Nissan Altima.

The Sentra driver had to be extricated from the vehicle before being rushed to the hospital, according to Sgt. Brian Wilbur.

The Altima driver was not seriously injured, Wilbur said. There were no passengers in either vehicle.

Route 30 eastbound was closed for about two hours, police said.
