Rescue mission to host 'Stuff the Truck' event

On Saturday, Nov. 21, the York Rescue Mission will host a "Stuff the Truck" food drive event at Santander Stadium, 5 Brooks Robinson Way, York City.

The event will happen from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m.

Each person who makes a donation will be able to take a turn at “Turkey Bowling” and win a prize.

Face-painting, balloons and games will be available and there will be a special appearance by mascot "Downtown." Warm 103.3 will be there as well.

The organization asks that people donate fresh and canned fruits, fresh and canned vegetables, canned yams and sweet potatoes, chicken or beef broth, condensed soup, oatmeal, grits or cream of wheat, pancake mix and syrup, ketchup, mustard and mayonnaise, sugar and substitute sweeteners, boxed stuffing mix, milk and OJ, instant mashed potatoes, canned cranberry sauce, tuna, Spam, canned corned beef, spaghetti sauce and pasta, boxed cereal, juice and powdered drink, peanut butter and jelly, spices and paper products.

For safety purposes, the rescue mission asks that people not bring anything in a glass container.
