Regents' Glen Country Club is closed, and it's not clear when or whether it'll reopen.

A sign on the door Monday warned the country club was closed until further notice.

Financial woes have muddled the club's recent history. Employees of the country club over the summer said they had not been paid over the course of several months.

The country club owed hundreds of thousands of dollars in back taxes dating back to 2011, and York County in August accepted payment of more than $260,000 from Regents' Glen Building & Development LLC for the taxes.

The payment was needed to stop the auction of 10 parcels of land owned by Regents' Glen, including those on which the country club's clubhouse and maintenance facilities sit.

Regents' Glen includes a housing community, a pro shop, locker rooms and a restaurant called Glen Grille in addition to its golf course and 8-acre practice complex.

The Box Hill Mansion, which was acquired by Regents' Glen in May 2000 and then transformed into a dinner club, is also among the club's amenities.
