The Pennsylvania Game Commission's three youngest officers are still learning the ropes, but are expected to be ready for work this fall.

Storm, Gunner and Skye — all Labrador retriever puppies — made their introductions to reporters Friday morning at the game commission's K-9 training course at Haldeman Island in the Susquehanna River, according to Travis Lau, press secretary for the game commission.

The pups and their handlers began field training in May.

Once trained, they will doggedly assist wildlife conservation officers in investigations that require detection of evidence, searches for poached wildlife and tracking of suspects, Lau said in a news release.

Gunner is handled by WCO Derek Daly; Skye is handled by WCO Dave Allen; and Storm is handled by WCO Larry Hergenroeder.
