Giant Food Stores/Martin’s Food Markets are pulling some frozen desserts from their shelves over concerns of potential listeria contamination.

The products in question are 4-packs of Smart Ones Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Sundaes, with the UPC code 25800023295 and “best if used by” dates from Dec. 28, 2016, through July 28, 2017.

Giant/Martin’s stores are removing the products following a recall by the Kraft Heinz Co., according to a news release from the company.

Customers who have bought the dessert should throw the product away and take their receipt to their local Giant/Martin’s store for a full refund.

The Carlisle-based grocery chain has received no reports of illnesses, but listeria monocytogenes can cause high fever, severe headache, neck stiffness, nausea and listeriosis, a potentially fatal disease.

For more recall information, customers can call Giant/Martin’s customer service at 1-888-814-4268 or Kraft Heinz at 1-866-572-3805 or visit the Giant/Martin’s websites.
