WellSpan adds mental and behavioral health provider

STAFF REPORT

WellSpan Health will officially begin its affiliation with one of the largest mental and behavioral health providers in the region on Jan. 1, according to a company news release.

Philhaven's 55 programs and 1,100 staff will join WellSpan's 10 primary care physician practices that have added behavioral health providers in recent years.

The combination is intended to enhance local care systems in Adams, York, Lancaster and Lebanon counties.

“WellSpan’s focus on coordinating both physical and mental health within the primary care setting is both patient-centered and effective,” Philhaven CEO Phil Hess said in the release. “We are excited to join WellSpan and to expand the integration of our services into all aspects of the WellSpan Health system. It is a great opportunity for Philhaven and an enhanced resource for the communities and people that we serve.”
