"This generous grant allows us to extend the opportunity to make a York College education — a world-class, private education — accessible to even more of our deserving students," said York College President Pamela Gunter-Smith in a statement.

"We are pleased to receive this grant, as it enables the college to further its mission to prepare students for productive and purposeful lives and support the Stabler Foundation's philanthropic vision," she added.

The foundation established a scholarship fund at York College in 2009.

More than 100 York College students have received scholarship support since the scholarship fund's inception, according to the news release.
