Gas leak blocks Central York school buses

Junior Gonzalez
York Dispatch

A gas leak in the area of Woodmont Estates has prompted road closures that are forcing a change to the bus drop-off locations of the Central York School District.

A school bus travels along West Market Street before noon Monday, Jan. 8, 2017. Several York County school districts sent students home midday and the National Weather Service projects snow totals will amount between a coating and an inch, with ice accumulations amounting to a "light glaze." The intersection of Woodmont Drive and Robin Hill Circle is blocked to traffic as of 2:50 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 10.

According to a post on the district's website, buses 14, 23, 38, 46 and 57 are impacted, as well as vans 2, 4, 5 and 18.

Bus drivers are dropping off students at Harvest and Woodmont and Woodmont and Heathride, each located on opposite sides of the blocked road.

Columbia Gas officials are on the scene and working to repair the leak.
