According to a news release from the college, it isn't the first time Koons will be visiting York College. He had an art exhibit there in 2002, and he also worked with the college in 2015 to have several senior fine art students at his studio in New York for a private tour and a discussion of his work.

Koons is known for taking everyday objects to create art, according his website. He's worked with items such as inflatables and balloons to create some of his work. He also is a painter and sculptor. Some of his famous works are "Balloon Dog," an oil painting, and "Rabbit," a stainless-steel sculpture.

Koons' first solo exhibition was in 1980, and since then he's been featured all over the world, according to the release. His work is in public collections such as the Museum of Modern Art in New York City and the Tate Gallery in London.
