HACC gets new scholarship
McDaniel College, based out of Westminster, Maryland, has partnered with the Harrisburg Area Community College (HACC) to offer a new scholarship.
HACC is one of 11 community colleges to partner with McDaniel College to offer Educator's Legacy Scholarships, according to a news release from McDaniel College. Children of employees at HACC are eligible to receive up to $100,000 to attend McDaniel College.
High school seniors with a parent who works in K-12 education may also apply for this scholarship. In order to qualify, the parent must have worked in K-12 education or in one of the partnering community colleges for four years. Any position with the school or community colleges can qualify, including teachers, counselors, support staff or administrators.
The release states there is no limit to the number of scholarships awarded by McDaniel College. The scholarship, which is $25,000 per year for students, or $20,000 per year for commuter students, can be renewed each year with continuous enrollment at McDaniel College and good academic standing.
The full list of participating community colleges is: Anne Arundel Community College, Carroll Community College, Cecil College, Chesapeake College, Community College of Baltimore County, Frederick Community College, Garrett College, Hagerstown Community College, Howard Community College, Prince George’s Community College and HACC.
