A number of events to accept donations for Toys for Tots will be held this upcoming weekend.

Toys for Tots is a national organization that collects donations for young children in need during the holiday season. Low-income families and other children in need might not receive many or any presents during the holidays. The program was founded by the U.S. Marine Corps and collects donations during October, November and December each year.

Toys donated should be new and unwrapped. The York County Toys for Tots website also states that gifts resembling realistic weapons or that have food attached will not be distributed.

The York Toys for Tots Local Community Organization is one of 800 groups of volunteers that support Toys for Tots with different drives and events. They have worked with businesses and organizations to coordinate the events this weekend.
