24-year-old man dies after shooting in York City

A 24-year-old man was shot to death in York City on Thursday morning. 

The shooting occurred just after 9:30 a.m. in the 100 block of East Maple Street, according to York City Police.

York County Emergency Management spokesperson Ted Czech said the man had been shot multiple times and was transported to WellSpan York Hospital. He died at the hospital shortly after 10:30 a.m., according to the York County Coroner's Office.

Police said that a known suspect remained on the scene and is cooperating with police, but the investigation as to what happened is ongoing. 

An autopsy is scheduled for Friday morning at Lehigh Valley Hospital in Allentown, according to the coroner's report. The man's name will be released Friday, the coroner's office said.
