Southern Regional Police are searching for a York-area man accused of robbing a laundromat in Shrewsbury earlier this month.

The department said Steven Wayne Baker Jr., 34, robbed Shrewsbury Laundry at 13 Old Farm Lane the afternoon of Sept. 11. No one was injured in the incident.

Investigators believe he fled the area to avoid arrest.

Southern Regional Police posted photos of the  suspect online before investigators identified him as the alleged robber.

The department said the public helped in identifying Baker.

Once arrested, Baker will be charged with robbery and flight to avoid apprehension, both of which are felonies, and misdemeanor offenses of theft and receiving stolen property.

Southern Regional Police said it does not appear that Baker is a risk to the public.

Anyone with information on Baker's whereabouts is asked to contact police at 717-235-3944.
