Police: Man snagged cellphone, fled

An Adams County man is accused of robbing a man outside an apartment in Hanover earlier this month, according to authorities. 

Hanover Police said Tyler Lamont Robinson, 24, got out of a car, stole the man's cellphone, then fled on Friday, Sept. 13.

Robinson was found shortly after and arrested.

Robinson, of the 200 block of South Jefferson Street, McSherrystown, is charged with robbery, a felony, and misdemeanor charges of theft and receiving stolen property.

Robbery: Charging documents state the victim was sitting outside his apartment in the first block of West Walnut Street when Robinson got out of a car and took the man's cellphone from him about 9:50 p.m.

Robinson got back in the car and fled, according to police.

The victim gave police a description of Robinson and his vehicle, and officers found Robinson, charging documents state.

The victim identified Robinson as the man who robbed him, police said. 

Robinson admitted to police that he stole the man's cellphone, according to court documents, which state the phone was found in his backpack.

As of Friday, Sept. 20, he remains in York County Prison on $25,000 bail. He does not have an attorney listed.

His preliminary hearing is scheduled for Oct. 22 at District Judge Dwayne Dubs' office.
