Police: York City woman sexually assaulted girl
A York City woman is accused of sexually assaulting a young girl earlier this year, according to police.
York City Police said Stephanie Fay McCray, 51, made the girl, 9, perform a sexual act while in her home.
McCray, of the 400 block of West Philadelphia Street, is charged with involuntary deviate sexual intercourse with a child, sexual assault, indecent assault of someone younger than 13 and corruption of minors. All charges are felonies.
Police said McCray was watching the girl when she made the child perform the act on her. Officer Derek Hartman, the department's spokesman, said the alleged incident happened in mid-January.
It wasn't reported to authorities until February, according to charging documents.
Police said multiple attempts to contact McCray during the investigation were unsuccessful.
Charges were filed Sept. 12, and she was arrested Thursday, Sept. 19, online court records state.
McCray remains free on $25,000 unsecured bail. A number could not be found for her, and she does not have an attorney listed.
Her preliminary hearing is scheduled for Oct. 3 at District Judge James Morgan's office.
