Police are urging Glen Rock residents to lock their cars after someone stole items from about 20 unlocked vehicles early Wednesday morning.

Southern Regional Police said someone entered the vehicles between 2 a.m. and 5:30 a.m. Wednesday, July 31.

That person stole from vehicles in the areas of Ridge Avenue, Hillside Terrace and Circle Drive, according to police.

Southern Regional Chief James Boddington told The York Dispatch that a bicycle had been stolen on Hanover Street the night before the thefts.

“We think the same person was using the bicycle to get around town," he said.

That person went through glove boxes and stole small items, mostly change, according to the chief.

He added that none of the vehicles were broken into.

“Lock your cars up, secure everything," Boddington said. "Because you never know”

Anyone with information on the thefts is asked to contact Detective Bill Shafer at 717-235-3944.
