A man was shot in York City on Tuesday night, according to police.

York City Police said in a news release that Jose Herrera, 27, suffered a gunshot wound to the ankle Tuesday, Oct. 23. 

The department said officers responded to the area of South Pine Street and Liberty Court at 6:24 p.m.

Herrera, police said, was taken to York Hospital in a private vehicle. He was in stable condition Tuesday night.
