Two 14-year-old boys are charged as juveniles after they allegedly made threats at Central York High School's football game last week.

It happened the evening of Friday, Oct. 5, at the high school football stadium and involved two ninth-graders, according to statements released by the York County School of Technology and Central York School District.

One of the students attends York Tech and the other attends Central York High School, the releases state.

"The students have been removed from their respective schools and are not in school at this time," according to York Tech's news release.

Administrators from both schools were notified Saturday, Oct. 6, of "a concerning statement" that was overheard at the game, the releases state.

Northern York County Regional Police were asked to investigate the same day, Deputy Chief David Lash confirmed.

Investigators filed misdemeanor charges of making terroristic threats and disorderly conduct against the teens, and both were released to the custody of their parents, Lash said.

The students are charged in juvenile court, according to the deputy chief. They live in Manchester Township and North York, he said.

Gun plot? "They were talking between themselves in the presence of other students" at the football game, Lash said. "Both made statements ... about bringing guns to their respective schools."

One of the students who overheard the conversation alerted school officials the next day, according to Lash.

York Tech students, faculty and staff can report school-related concerns by calling the school's tip line, 717-505-4746, according to York Tech's news release; high-school students can also take their concerns to the school office.

Central York School District's statement didn't include a number to report concerns.

Those who believe they have witnessed a crime or overheard statements about a possible crime being committed can call 911.
