A 30-year-old York City man is accused of indecently assaulting a 5-year-old girl over 12 years ago, according to police.

On Thursday, Sept. 27, York City Police filed charges against Kenneth Scott Weaver, alleging that he molested the girl in a York City home in July 2006, when he was 17.

Weaver, of the 500 block of North Walnut Street, is charged with aggravated indecent assault of a child, indecent assault of someone younger than 13, indecent assault and open lewdness.

Allegations: In late July, the victim told authorities that 12 years earlier he took her to his bedroom and exposed himself to her, court documents state.

He tried to have sex with her, but someone opened the door to his room and Weaver stopped, officials said.

Police say Weaver admitted to touching himself while the girl was in the room and also admitted he had problems with sexual urges.

The victim was not random, according to police.

Weaver was arraigned on the charges the morning of Friday, Sept. 28. He remains in York County Prison on $50,000 bail. He does not have an attorney listed.

His preliminary hearing is scheduled for Oct. 12 at District Judge Linda Williams' office.
