Police are asking for the public's help in identifying a driver who struck a teenager near Dover Area High School earlier this week.

Northern York County Regional Police said a 13-year-old boy was struck by a blue Jeep Cherokee that was heading west on East Canal Street at 3:53 p.m. Monday, Sept. 10.

It happened not far from the high school, police said.

The driver of the Jeep stopped but then drove away, according to police.

The boy suffered moderate injuries that weren't considered life-threatening and was treated at a local hospital, Deputy Chief David Lash said.

The Jeep might have damage to its passengerside mirror or doors, police said.

Anyone with information about the driver's identity or the whereabouts of the blue Jeep Cherokee is asked to call the Northern Regional Police Department's tip line at 717-467-TELL, or send an email to tips@nycrpd.org.
