Teen shot in York City Sunday night
A York City teen was shot the night of Sunday, Sept. 9, according to officials.
Lt. Gene Fells said the teen was walking with his mother in the 100 block of Stevens Avenue just before he was shot. Police say the shooting happened about 10:15 p.m.
The boy, 13, was taken to a hospital, where he remained Monday, according to Fells.
He said the boy should survive his wounds. Fells said the boy was shot in the side.
The lieutenant said detectives still cannot determine if the teen was the intended target of the shooting.
No arrests have been made, he said. Fells said detectives are following up on some leads.
Sunday's shooting was the second shooting in less than a week, and in both instances teenagers were the victims.
Police said Infinite Corbett, 18, shot a 17-year-old boy in the 600 block of West King Street about 1:30 p.m. Monday, Sept. 3.
According to police, the victim suffered gunshot wounds to the right shoulder and hand, and a bullet was lodged in his liver. Fells has said the victim is expected to survive.
Corbett has not yet been taken into custody, according to online court records.
