Prison for man who robbed West Manchester bank inside Walmart
A Hallam man has pleaded guilty to robbing a West Manchester Township bank and is being sent to state prison.
Keith Reinecker, 39, appeared in York County Court on Thursday, Aug. 23, and pleaded guilty to bank robbery and robbery/threat of immediate serious injury. Both charges are felonies.
At the time of the bank robbery he lived on Buttonwood Lane in Hallam, but he also has a recent home address in Freeland, Maryland, according to court documents.
He was sentenced to 7½ to 14 years in state prison by presiding Common Pleas Judge Craig T. Trebilcock, court documents state.
Also Thursday, Reinecker pleaded guilty in three other cases to charges including fleeing or eluding police, forgery, theft and retail theft, according to court records.
The prison time he received in those cases runs concurrently with his bank-robbery sentence, court records state.
The background: Reinecker robbed the Woodforest National Bank inside the Walmart at 1000 Town Center Drive about 7 p.m. Nov. 7, according to West Manchester Township Police.
It was close to closing time, and he asked if there was still time to make a transaction, police said.
He then handed a teller a note that said, "kindly put all the 50's and 100's in a bag from the register," court documents state.
Reinecker threatened to have a weapon but didn't display one, police have said.
He took off after getting an undetermined amount of cash, documents state.
Responding officers quickly sent out screenshots of surveillance footage, and an officer spotted Reinecker a short time later, police said.
A brief foot chase ensued, but he was captured quickly, according to police.
They found the bank bag and money in his possession as well as the handwritten note Reinecker had given to the teller, documents state.
