Police: Springetts bank robbed at gunpoint
Springettsbury Township Police are searching for a man who robbed a township bank at gunpoint on Monday, Aug. 6.
It happened about 8:35 a.m. at New Cumberland Federal Credit Union, 200 Memory Lane, police said.
A man brandishing a handgun and wearing a red bandanna, white hat and dark clothing walked into the bank and demanded cash from a teller, according to Lt. Todd King.
After getting an undetermined amount of money, the robber fled and was last seen running westbound from the bank, King said.
No one was hurt, according to the lieutenant.
Township officers — assisted by state police, York County sheriff's deputies and West York Police — searched the area for more than an hour but couldn't find the robber, King said.
Investigators are expected to release security video stills of the robber at some point, but those photos weren't ready as of late Monday afternoon, King said.
If you saw someone fitting the man's description in the area, or if you have any information about the robbery, you're asked to call Springettsbury Township Police at 717-757-3525.
