Springettsbury Township Police are looking for the driver of a silver Chevrolet Cruze that struck a bicyclist and fled the scene earlier this week.

It happened at 4:10 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 1, on Industrial Highway near the intersection of Northern Way, police said.

A 47-year-old York City man was riding west on the right shoulder of the road when the car struck him from behind, police said.

He was taken to Memorial Hospital for treatment, according to township Sgt. Brian Wilbur.

The silver Chevy Cruze sedan fled the scene and was last seen turning into the parking lot of Wolf Furniture, according to police — but it left something behind.

Officers found pieces of the car's front-passenger light assembly at the scene of the hit-and-run, which helped them identify the car's make and model, police said.

The Cruze should have damage to the front passenger bumper or fender areas, according to police, who said there is so far no description of the driver to release to the public.

Anyone with information about the hit-and-run crash is asked to call Springettsbury Township Police at 717-757-3525 or email Officer Ryan Thomas at rthomas@springettsbury.com.
