A West York teen shot himself in the leg while in York City on Tuesday, July 31, according to police.
York City Police said the 17-year-old shot himself in the leg about 8:20 p.m. in the 600 block of West Locust Street.
The teen was taken to York Hospital in a private vehicle, police said.
Anyone with information about the shooting can text "Yorktips" and their information to 847-411.
The texting service is anonymous and allows tipsters to carry on texting conversations with police without police knowing their identities, Police Chief Troy Bankert has said.
