Peach Bottom Twp. man accused of hitting man with car
A Peach Bottom Township man is accused of striking a man with his car in Fawn Grove, according to police.
State police filed charges which state Jacob Andrew Pigg intentionally backed his Toyota Tacoma into a man's Toyota RAV4, then struck a man who came to the scene of the crash with his car on Tuesday, July 17.
Pigg, 20, of the 8300 block of Woodbine Road, is charged with two counts each of aggravated assault, simple assault and one count each of recklessly endangering another person, criminal mischief, disorderly conduct, harassment and reckless driving.
Alleged incident: According to charging documents, a man saw Pigg driving eractically near the Rutter's in the first block of West Main Street just after 4 p.m.
The man decided to follow the vehicle, and while at the intersection of West Main Street and North Market Street, Pigg placed his vehicle in reverse and intentionally rammed the man's Toyota RAV4, officials said.
The driver behind the RAV4 exited the car and approached the scene of the crash, where he noticed Pigg's car ramming the RAV4, documents state. That man approached Pigg's vehicle in an attempt to get him to stop, but Pigg then struck him with his car, knocking him into the intersection and causing him to fall to the ground, police said.
Police were contacted, and all involved were asked to wait in the Rutter's parking lot, according to court documents. Officials say Pigg locked himself in a bathroom stall inside the Rutter's, but the two men found him.
On his way out of the store, Pigg shoved a woman before police took him into custody, court documents state.
The man who was struck by Pigg's vehicle was taken to York Hospital by EMS, officials said. Police say he was complaining of head, neck and back pain.
Pigg was taken to the county's central booking unit for arraignment. He remains in York County Prison in lieu of $50,000 bail.
He does not have an attorney listed.
Pigg's preliminary hearing is scheduled for Aug. 1 at District Judge Laura Manifold's office.
