Spring Grove-area man guilty of sexually assaulting 81-year-old
A Heidelberg Township man who police said raped a woman in her 80s has been convicted of some of the charges against him.
A jury on Wednesday, July 11, found Lance Edward Moore guilty of the first-degree felony of attempted involuntary deviate sexual intercourse by forcible compulsion and the first-degree misdemeanor of indecent assault by forcible compulsion, according to York County court records.
Jurors acquitted him of a number of charges, including rape and sexual assault, court records state.
Moore, 48, remains in York County Prison awaiting sentencing, which is set for Oct. 2 before Common Pleas Judge Gregory M. Snyder.
Snyder ordered that a sexual-offender assessment be done on Moore to determine whether he should be deemed a sexually violent predator under the state's Megan's Law, court records state.
Moore sexually assaulted an 81-year-old woman in January 2017, Southern Regional Police have said.
Moore also has a pending case in York County Court in which he is charged with possession of child pornography, according to court records.
Southwestern Regional Police filed that charge in August 2017, court records state.
Moore's criminal history in York County includes guilty pleas to making terroristic threats, simple assault and driving under the influence/4th or subsequent offense, according to court records.
It also includes no-contest pleas to aggravated assault and drug possession with intent to deliver, records state.
