Woman allegedly punched, robbed woman in Hanover
A woman is accused of punching a woman then taking off with her cellphone while in Hanover last month, according to police.
Hanover Police say Cheri Nicole Julius punched the woman in the face twice, causing her to have "ringing" in her ears.
Julius, 28, of no fixed address, is charged with robbery, simple assault, theft, receiving stolen property and harassment.
Alleged robbery: According to court documents, Julius punched the woman in the face twice about 6 p.m. May 19 in the 300 block of Pleasant Street.
Julius then forcibly took a phone, valued at $250, officials said.
Police say the victim's face was swollen in the areas where she told officials that she had been punched by Julius.
"(The victim) stated she had been punched so hard she felt disoriented and could hear ringing in her ears," Officer Jose Gonzalez Jr. wrote in charging documents.
She also told authorities she felt she was going to pass out and that a tooth might have been chipped, court documents allege.
The victim positively identified Julius as the attacker, officials said. Gonzalez spoke to Julius by phone, and she admitted to having a confrontation with the victim, police said.
Reached Friday, June 8, Julius' attorney, Ron Gross, said they expect the reality of what occurred to unfold during Julius' preliminary hearing. Her hearing is scheduled for July 3 at District Judge Dwayne Dubs' office.
Gross acknowledged that there was an altercation between Julius and the victim.
"As far as robbery and theft, we contest that — it never occurred," he said.
Charges were filed May 19, and Julius was arraigned on them May 31.
She posted $25,000 bail, but she was sent to York County Prison without bail in another case.
At the time of the alleged robbery, she was free on $7,500 bail on crash charges from Northern York County Regional Police in Jackson Township in October, court records state.
On Thursday, June 7, Common Pleas Judge Gregory Snyder revoked her bail, according to online records.
