State police have identified a man they say robbed a bank in Shrewsbury Township last week.

Police said in a news release that the BB&T Bank at 16576 Susquehanna Trail South was robbed about 1:30 p.m. May 23.

On May 31, police identified the suspect as Robert Steven Donnell, no age given, of Freeland, Maryland.

He fled the scene in a gray Ford Taurus before troopers arrived, according to officials.

Police say Donnell was taken into custody a short distance from his residence on May 30, with assistance from the Maryland State Police and the U.S. Marshals.

The release does not state how the suspect took the money, nor does it state how much money was taken.
