State police are investigating bank robbery that took place in Shrewsbury Township last week.

Police said in a news release that the BB&T Bank at 16576 Susquehanna Trail South was robbed at about 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 23.

The robber is described as a 5-foot-8 white man between 30 and 40 years old, with a medium build, collar-length dark, wavy hair and a dark goatee.

He fled the scene in a gray-color Ford Taurus before troopers arrived, according to officials.

The release does not state how the suspect took the money, nor does it state how much money was taken.

A message left for a state police spokesman seeking more information was not immediately returned Tuesday, May 29.

Anyone with information on the robbery is asked to call state police at 717-428-1011.
