York City man accused of assaulting officers
A York City man is accused of assaulting a probation officer and a sheriff's deputy after he violated conditions of his probation, according to officials.
The York County Detective Bureau filed charges against Alonzo Terrain Bobbitt, alleging he become combative with York County Adult Probation officers, causing one of them to dislocate his shoulder.
Bobbit, 27, of the 600 block of West Cottage Place, is charged with aggravated assault, resisting arrest and disorderly conduct.
Alleged assault: Probation officers were talking to Bobbitt on May 10 and told him he was going to be taken into custody for violating the conditions of his probation, according to officials.
Bobbitt became agitated and refused to comply with the officers, Detective Paul Pelaia wrote in court documents.
Court documents do not state where the initial alleged confrontation took place.
A confrontation with one of the probation officers left the officer with an injured shoulder, according to authorities. Pelaia wrote that the confrontation lasted a few minutes, but he did not specify what allegedly caused the injury.
The officers took Bobbitt to the county's central booking unit, where he again began resisting and kicked a sheriff's deputy in the wrist, causing a laceration, officials said.
Bobbitt was eventually shackled and restrained, documents state.
Online court records indicate that Bobbitt was on probation after pleading guilty to a drug delivery charge in April.
The probation officer went to York Hospital, where he received treatment for a dislocated shoulder, according to charging documents. The deputy was treated by the sheriff's office personnel.
Charges were filed May 16, and Bobbitt was arraigned on the charges Wednesday, May 23.
District Judge Linda Williams set bail at $10,000, but Bobbitt remains in prison on a probation detainer, according to online court records.
He does not have an attorney listed.
His preliminary hearing is scheduled for June 12 at Williams' office.
