West York Area suspends outdoor activities at middle, high schools after threat
A threat that specifically mentioned West York Area High School prompted the district to suspend all outdoor activities at the middle school and high school Monday, May 7, according to a statement from Superintendent Todd Davies.
Davies said a West York Area Middle School student brought the potential threat to the attention of the district's administration on Monday. The threat, according to the statement, was not made by a district student.
West Manchester Township Police identified the person who made the threat, and that person is cooperating with the investigation, Davies said.
The high school and middle school suspended outdoor activities during the school day Monday, which included open lunch, according to the statement.
