Authorities have identified two people who were shot during a drive-by shooting in York City on Tuesday night.

York City Police say Christopher Johnson, 41, and Leonard Harris, 43, both of York City, were shot Tuesday, May 1.

Johnson and Harris were shot in the 400 block of West Princess Street about 7:35 p.m. 

Lt. Gene Fells said someone shot them from a car driving by.

“The two victims were standing in the line of fire," he said Wednesday.

They both suffered gunshot wounds to the leg, according to the lieutenant. 

“Whether they were the intended targets or not, we don’t know yet," Fells said. 

They were taken by ambulance to York Hospital, and police say the two are in stable condition as of Wednesday, May 2.

Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to call police at 717-846-1234 or text "Yorktips" and the information to 847-411 or download the York City PD App.  Texting in tips is the best method of conveying information about this incident, police said, and it is anonymous.
