A Lancaster County man died after falling off a roof in Codorus Township on Thursday, April 26, according to the York County Coroner's Office.

The coroner's office said Stephen Smoker, 29, of Kirkwood, was working to put a roof on a hog barn at a family member's property in the 3000 block of Buffalo Valley Road around 1:45 p.m. when he fell about 20 feet and landed on a concrete floor.

Smoker was flown to York Hospital from the scene. His condition deteriorated there, and he died at 8:39 p.m., the coroner's office said.

Smoker's cause of death was blunt-force trauma to the head and thoracic spine injuries, with the manner accidental.
