A Lancaster County man whose body was found in rural southeastern York County this week was the victim of homicide, according to York County Coroner Pam Gay.

Aaron Wollman, 25, of Hickory Road in Denver, died of multiple gunshot wounds, Gay wrote in a news release.

Wollman's body was found about 7 a.m. Monday, April 16, near the intersection of Bare Road and Furnace Road (Route 425) in Lower Chanceford Township, according to the coroner.

Someone reported seeing a male in cardiac arrest along the road; a responding ambulance crew found Wollman dead with apparent gunshot wounds, Gay said.

Wollman was pronounced dead at the scene at 8:05 a.m., she said.

Gay announced the cause and manner of his death after an autopsy Tuesday morning at Allentown's Lehigh Valley Hospital.

Wollman's body was found lying on the road, according to Trooper James Spencer, a state police spokesman.

Members of a state police major-case team are working across "multiple counties" to investigate, Spencer said.

The trooper said he was unable to answer more detailed questions because the investigation is ongoing.

The area where Wollman's body was found is south of state game lands and not far from the Lake Aldred portion of the Susquehanna River.

It's a mix of farmland and wooded areas.

Anyone with information about Wollman's death is asked to call 911, or call the Loganville barracks of state police at 717-428-1011.
