Southern Regional Police investigated graffiti at Southern Middle School that threatened violence Thursday, March 15.

The district said in a statement to parents and guardians that the graffiti was found in a bathroom partition and that police found the student responsible for the threat. The statement was shared publicly by Southern Regional Police on Wednesday, March 14.

The department determined that at no time was there a viable threat to students, staff and schools. Police filed charges of making terroristic threats and disorderly conduct against a juvenile male student for the threat, the department said Thursday afternoon.
