A West York Area Middle School student was overheard threatening to shoot another student Friday, March 2, according to a statement from the district.

Superintendent Todd Davies wrote in the statement on the district's website that the student was detained, and his belongings were searched. No weapons were found, according to the statement.  

West Manchester Township Police continue to investigate, and the student will receive disciplinary action from both police and the district.

A 12-year-old middle school student was arrested for making threats last week as well, police have said.
