Rape charges dropped for Penn Twp. man

A Penn Township man's rape charges have been withdrawn, according to court documents.

Penn Township Police charged Preston Gabriel Eger, 23, with rape-related charges, making terroristic threats and simple assault in March.

But during Eger's March 15 preliminary hearing, prosecutors withdrew all charges having to do with sexual assault, according to court records.

Police allege Eger threatened a woman with whom he is acquainted in late February.

He remains charged with misdemeanor offenses of making terroristic threats and simple assault.

Kyle King, spokesman for the York County District Attorney's office, declined comment on Wednesday, July 25. He said his office can't comment on an active criminal case.

Eger's trial is tentatively scheduled for the September trial term.
