West Manchester Township Police are searching for three people who they say stole more than 40 handguns from a sporting goods store earlier this month.

Detective Sean Conway said three males broke into the Carbon and Steel Sporting Goods store at 4375 W. Market St. just after midnight Sunday, Feb. 11.

Township police are working jointly with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives. Charlene Hennessy, spokeswoman for the Philadelphia ATF office, said the ATF and the National Shooting Sports Foundation are offering a $10,000 reward for tips leading to the arrest of those involved.

The guns, Conway said, varied in make and size. Investigators believe the three will likely be selling the guns.

"I'm sure they're not going to be hanging on to all of them." he said.

Officials have released photos that show three people taking items from the counter.

Anyone with information on the suspects or incident is asked to call the ATF hotline at 1-888-ATF-TIPS or West Manchester Township Police at 717-792-9514.

Tips also may be sent to ATFTips@atf.gov.
