Police: Facebook sale leads to York City robbery
A sale arranged on Facebook took a turn after police say two Lancaster men were assaulted when the two thought they were going to buy a Toyota Corolla from someone in York City earlier this month.
York City Police say Emanuel "Axel" Comfort Pacheco, along with two unknown suspects, robbed the Lancaster men at gunpoint.
Pacheco, 21, of the 400 block of East Princess Street, faces robbery charges.
Alleged robbery: According to court documents, Junior Maldonado, 36, and Kelvin Santiago, 29, both of Lancaster, arranged over Facebook to meet with someone named "Axel" who was selling a Toyota Corolla in York City.
Maldonado and Santiago met Pacheco in the 100 block of East Mason Avenue at 7 p.m. Feb. 8, and the three then walked to a nearby garage, police said.
While they were in the garage, two masked people approached them with a gun and machete and demanded money from Maldonado and Santiago, documents state. Pacheco grabbed a handgun and put it to one victim's head and demanded money, officials said.
The three ended up taking cellphones from the men before they hit them in the face with a gun, police said.
Using facial recognition software on a Facebook photo of the one who arranged the sale, police were able to identify one of the suspects as Pacheco, according to court documents.
As of Tuesday, Feb. 20, York City Police are still searching for Pacheco, as well as the two masked people.
