York City Police are trying to identify a man who they say attempted to rob a convenience store at gunpoint over the weekend.

Police say three suspects entered Lee's Market at 564 N. Pershing Ave. at about 2:50 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 11, and demanded money.

One suspect wearing red brandished a firearm and shot it once, missing the store owner, according to police.

After he fired the gun, the three fled on foot, according to officials. Police say nothing was taken in the incident.

Detectives are attempting to identify the man wearing red. On Monday, Feb. 12, the department released two images of the suspect pointing a gun while in the store. 

Anyone with information on the suspect's identity is asked to contact police at 717-846-1234 or 717-849-2219. Tips can also be sent to York County Crime Stoppers at
717-755-8477.

Tips may also be sent in by text by sending "yorktips" to 847-411, then adding your information.

Tips can be kept anonymous. A cash reward may be offered for information leading to an arrest in the case, according to police.
