Coroner ID's man found pinned under utility vehicle in Paradise Twp.
An Adams County man died after he was pinned under a utility vehicle in Paradise Township, according to the York County Coroner's Office.
The coroner's office said in a news release that Shane Douglas Hockensmith, 30, was found under a loader in the first block of Beaver Creek Road on Monday, Jan. 29.
Hockensmith had been grading the area using the loader, working by himself since about noon, the release states.
Northern York County Regional Police say Hockensmith was conducting excavation at a home that was under construction at the time, and he was pinned down by the bucket portion of the skid steer.
It is not known how Hockensmith became pinned, according to police. He was found under the machinery about 4:10 p.m.
Hockensmith, of Dicks Dam Road, Hamilton Township, was the owner of Hockensmith Enterprises Inc., according to the release.
The Occupational Safety and Health Administration will be arriving at the scene Tuesday, Jan. 30, and an autopsy might or might not be scheduled based on their findings.
The cause and manner of his death are pending additional investigation.

Editor's note: An earlier version of the story included a different brand name for the machinery. An initial news release from the coroner's office included that brand name for the machinery, but was later corrected. This story was corrected to reflect that.
