A York City man was taken to the hospital after he was shot while sitting in the back of a car, according to police.

York City Police say Isaiah Ritter, 21, was sitting in the back of a car that was being driven in the area of the first block of South Penn Street, when he was shot early in the morning Wednesday, Jan. 17.

The driver, Ohadji Diggs, was driving southbound when he heard gunshots, police said. He continued driving but realized Ritter had been shot. 

He then drove Ritter to the hospital, according to police. York City Police responded to York Hospital at 1:20 a.m.

 

His condition from the hospital could not be obtained Wednesday.

No suspects have been identified, and the investigation is ongoing.
