Newberry Township man accused of raping 10-year-old girl
A Newberry Township man is accused of raping a young girl in North Codorus Township last summer, according to police.
Southwestern Regional Police say William Agosto-Torres, 30, molested and raped a 10-year-old girl in June.
Agosto-Torres, of the 600 block of Cassel Road, is charged with child rape, aggravated indecent assault, involuntary deviate sexual intercourse with a child, indecent assault of a person younger than 13 and corruption of minors.
Incident: Police say Agosto-Torres raped the girl at a home in late June 2017.
Agosto-Torres was in a room with her when he touched her genitals and made her touch his, court documents allege.
Agosto-Torres then raped her on the bed, officials said.
The victim told authorities that he was "cuddling" with her when this happened, according to charging documents.
Police say he committed similar assaults on the victim on other occasions.
Southwestern Regional Police Chief Greg Bean said Agosto-Torres knew the victim.
Charges for Agosto-Torres were filed Jan. 5, and he was arraigned on them Thursday, Jan. 11.
He was sent to York County Prison in lieu of $20,000 bail. A message left for his attorney seeking comment Thursday was not immediately returned.
His preliminary hearing is scheduled for Jan. 24 at District Judge Thomas Reilly's office.
