A night of drinking that allegedly included groping a woman, spitting on a cop and falling down stairs outside a York City bar ended in a prison cell for one weekend reveler.

Thomas Travis Dickinson, 29, of the 500 block of North George Street in York City, remains in York County Prison on $25,000 bail. He is charged with the felony of aggravated assault on a police officer, misdemeanor disorderly conduct and the summary of public drunkenness, according to court records.

Charging documents filed by York City Police state officers were outside Granfalloon's, 41 E. Princess St., for closing time about 2:10 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 26, when they saw Dickinson lying at the base of the stairs leading to the bar.

Dickinson struck his head when he fell, police said.

When officers spoke with Dickinson, he smelled of alcohol, slurred his words and had trouble standing up, according to charging documents.

He was uncooperative and used foul language, police said.

Groping alleged: Witnesses reported that he groped a woman's buttocks several times before tumbling down the stairs, documents state.

Officers told Dickinson he needed to call someone to get a ride home, but Dickinson said he'd rather walk home, according to police.

But officers told him he was too drunk to get home on his own and insisted he call for a ride, police said. When he refused, he was arrested and put in the back of a police cruiser being driven by Officer Alex Sable, documents state.

Sable, who was seated in the front of the cruiser, was writing a public-drunkenness citation for Dickinson when Dickinson "spit bloody saliva through the open window in the partition," hitting the citation and Sable's hand, according to police.

Spitting on a police officer turned a summary citation into a felony charge, according to documents.

It is unclear if Dickinson has retained an attorney.
