Police: York suspect sparks manhunt along Interstate 83

A York man wanted on burglary charges caused a multi-department response when he hid from authorities, according to police.

Springettsbury Township Police say Timothy McGee, 33, was found hiding in a wooded area on the west side of Interstate 83 on Thursday, Aug. 24.

He was arrested around 2:30 p.m.

Springettsbury Township Police responded to the Fayfield development at about 12:45 p.m. for a report of an attempted burglary and a suspect running from the residence, the department said in a news release.

Officers from Springettsbury, along with Spring Garden Township, York Area Regional Police, state police and the York County Sheriff's Department, helped to find McGee.

He faces charges of attempted burglary and additional charges related to the incident, according to police.
