York City Police search for car in shooting of 12-year-old

York City Police are looking for a car in relation to the shooting of a 12-year-old boy on Saturday.

The car is a blue Honda with a bullet hole in the driver-side door. It is missing a side mirror.

The shooting happened about 6 p.m. Saturday in the 200 block of South Penn Street, police said.

There was a shootout between occupants of two vehicles, and the boy was hit in the left thigh.

The boy was taken to York Hospital, where he was in stable condition, and because of his age and injury, he was later flown to Penn State Hershey Medical Center. He is expected to survive, police said.

Anyone who has seen the car is encouraged to call 911, police said. Police say no one should approach the car, just call 911.
