A 38-year-old Springettsbury Township man is in York County Prison on $250,000 bail, accused of having sex with a 13-year-old girl at a Manchester Township motel.

Jorge Munoz Perez, of 2437 Bradford Road, is charged with statutory sexual assault, unlawful contact with a minor, interference with the custody of a child, indecent assault of a child younger than 16 and corruption of a minor. He also is being held on a federal immigration detainer, according to prison records.

Northern York County Regional Police filed charges against him April 6.

According to charging documents, Munoz Perez met the girl through her parents last summer.

He flirted with her regularly and eventually convinced her to take a cellphone, which he then sent texts saying he loved her and wanted to have sex with her, documents allege.

The girl told police that Munoz Perez was "bugging" her, but that she thought the age difference made it wrong, according to documents.

But on the night of March 28, the girl became angry at her mother because the mother wanted her to clean her room, police said.

Because she was angry, she texted Munoz Perez to pick her up at her house, then climbed out of her window and met up with him, according to police.

Munoz Perez took the girl to the Motel 6 on Arsenal Road, where the two had sexual intercourse, charging documents allege.

The next morning, Munoz Perez left and the girl called her sister for a ride home, according to police, who said the girl's parents were unaware that she'd sneaked out of the house night before.
