A Mechanicsburg man wanted for an alleged sexual assault of a teenage girl in Monaghan Township this year was arrested in Missouri late last week.
Jesse Zacariah Roros, 36, formerly of the 1000 block of East Powderhorn Road, was found by the U.S. Marshals Task Force on March 9 in Phelps County, Missouri, according to a news release from the U.S. Marshals Service.
Charges: In January, Carroll Township Police filed charges against Roros. Police say Roros had sexual contact with a 14-year-old girl Jan. 10 in a residence in Monaghan Township. At the time of the alleged incident, Roros was on parole for a 2007 conviction of involuntary deviate sexual intercourse out of Perry County, the release states.
Carroll Township Police, Pennsylvania State Parole and Probation, as well as the U.S. Marshals Service, began searching for Roros in mid-January.
Attempts to find Roros in Pennsylvania were unsuccessful, and the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force began pursuing leads in Arkansas, Oklahoma and Missouri, according to the release.
On the morning of March 9, deputy marshals checked a home in Newbury, Missouri, and found Roros, officials said.
Initially, he gave authorities a different name, but he ultimately provided his actual name, the release stated. He was detained in Phelps County and is awaiting extradition to Pennsylvania, according to the release.
Once Roros is taken to York County, he will be charged with statutory sexual assault and corruption of minors, online court records state.
